Organic Limequats
Organic limequats: a mouthwatering cross between limes and kumquats.
Grown by the Vallejo family in Andalusia
When we last visited Enrique Vallejo and his sons on their small organic citrus farm near Malaga, they let us have a nibble of their latest experimental crops – and we were most impressed by these tasty little hybrids. An aromatic balance of sour and sweet, limequats can be eaten whole; shiny skin, seeds and all. Enjoy raw, cook into a fragrant chutney, or use the juice and rind to flavour any number of drinks and dishes.
It's rare to see a crop of organic limequat in Europe, and these trees Juan planted 4 years back, are grown for us only.
Country of origin
Produced in- Spain
How to prepare
No need to prep; limequats are edible whole, including the sweet, fragrant skin and small seeds inside. They can be used in most recipes that call for kumquats.
Storage
Limequats can be kept in a cool room or the fridge for at least a week.
Class
Our Limequats are sold as class 2. This means that they might not look cosmetically perfect, but they are grown for the very best flavour. (We have to tell you this to satisfy some EU rules).
