About this limited edition kombucha

Here for February only! This special kombucha case is a collaboration between our friend Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall at River Cottage, and organic kombucha experts Equinox. Together they’ve created three unique brews, inspired by Hugh’s love of homegrown fruit and veg and foraged wild ingredients.

Kombucha is a fermented tea drink with a distinctive sweet-tangy taste. These organic brews are made with tea, raw cane sugar and spring water, fermented with a kombucha culture. Once ready, River Cottage infused the kombucha with three seasonal flavours:

Hedge – an aromatic brew, made with Chun Mee green tea, and infused with the bittersweet botanical notes of an hedgerow: sloes, rosehips and juniper berries.

Lemon verbena – new to the River Cottage range, this refreshing brew is made with chamomile tea, infused with lemon verbena and lime flower to evoke the sparkling tang of a traditional English lemonade.

Orchard – infused with apples, plums and quince. It’s fruity and nostalgic, redolent of late summer gardens.

Case contains six 275ml glass bottles (two of each flavour).

Storage

Please store this fresh kombucha in the fridge to prevent the fermentation process from continuing in the bottle (spoiling the flavour and potentially causing pressure to build inside).

You may find a few floaty bits in your drink. Don’t worry; these are just the kombucha culture which ferments the tea. It’s only found in live, traditional kombucha, and perfectly safe to drink.

Contain traces of alcohol.

    At an evening for the Sustainable Soils Alliance, Dan from organic kombucha brewery Equinox met Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall of River Cottage. Dan and Hugh struck up a friendship based on their shared love of kombucha, and Hugh invited the Equinox team to taste the River Cottage home brew. A fruitful partnership was born – resulting in some seriously tasty seasonal brews!
